Born in rural Minnesota, Nicholas Robert Hagen has always had a gift for uncovering compelling stories. He believes that the curiosities of life are meant to be explored, celebrated, and shared.

Since his debut documentary with Kitty to Cooperstown, Nick’s passion for storytelling has only deepened. He is drawn to grand narratives with profound impact: those grounded in human elements that resonate universally.

Nick’s current project centers on Tommy John and the groundbreaking sports surgery that transformed the world of athletics. While sports serve as a prominent theme in his work, his career extends beyond that realm, with experience in directing and producing independent feature films.

Nick lives by the mantra that anything is possible with determination and purpose. Drawing inspiration from Jim Carrey’s words, “You can fail at what you don’t love, so you might as well take a chance on what you love,” Nick embraced his passion for filmmaking and art—and he hasn’t looked back.
